This book is unhappy, Monsieur St Just.

The Never Never Land is like this place. It calls to whom it wants, and never lets go of some. The boy is a monster and does not know he is a monster. He does not know what death is and yet he always kills. I wonder what he dreams.

The adults are all trapped in their bodies.

I do not like it.

The pretty devil-creature has moons in his eyes, and he sings of God. He tries to. Prettier than in the churches back home -- though there were few masses held at night.

People that pray because they are obligated sing different songs. Much uglier songs than those sung by them that want God most.
